McDonald’s Shamrock Shake Recipe

A Shamrock Shake, or the classic green drink, consists of vanilla ice cream, milk, and a special chocolate syrup called Cremora.

The key to creating a great shake is in the chocolate syrup, so we wanted to give you a little taste of the secret. Our Shake Master has made dozens of shakes over the years, and here are some tips on making the perfect shake:

You need to use natural ice cream!

Do not use vanilla ice cream unless you want a vanilla shake. If you make a shake with a fruit flavor, we recommend using strawberry or pineapple ice cream.

We recommend drinking milk straight from the fridge, not cold or from a carton.

Use Cremora chocolate syrup, not hot fudge.

If you try making a shake with regular sugar instead of Cremora, it will taste sweet but not creamy. And CrEaMy it is, for us!

We want to stress the importance of using natural ice cream. You can find a link to the ingredients for the Shake Master’s favorite, the Shamrock Shake, online.

Get the Snickerdoodle Milkshake Recipe

Snickerdoodles are delicious ice cream treats with a distinct, unique flavor. A staple in most ice cream parlors, the treatment is usually a mix of soft vanilla ice cream and crisp cookies that come packaged together in a cup.

However, one can take this recipe and change it by using some ingredients that go into the snickerdoodles. And this is precisely what we did.

To make our milkshakes, we incorporated the two ingredients into a snickerdoodle and changed the ice cream base and flavor profile to suit what we liked best.

We used vanilla almond milk instead of dairy in this recipe, added some cinnamon, and swapped the chocolate cookies for an oatmeal cookie. And with all of this, you get an unbelievably delicious ice cream milkshake.

Here’s how to make it.

Mix your ingredients and add them into your blender. Blend until everything is thoroughly combined.

Pour into your mason jars and freeze overnight.

Once the ice cream is frozen, pour the mixture through a cheesecloth-lined strainer to separate the solids from the liquid. Store the milkshake in the freezer, as you will need to soften the ice cream before serving.

Enjoy!
